Hi. I’m Charlie and I’m in the business of feelings. Everybody’s got them… just part of being human. Sometimes, grown-ups don’t believe I know what I’m talking about: probably because I’m a little brown dog with soft fur and wrinkles. Mostly, kids not only believe that I do, but also know that what I’m talking about is important: probably because I’m a little brown dog with soft fur and wrinkles. Kids think differently than grown-ups … they see the world through kid’s eyes. Some grown-ups think feelings are not important so they ignore them. That’s not really such a good thing. Most of the time ignoring feelings and/or acting as if they were not important causes problems both for the feeling ignored and so many
people all around them too.Even though I’m a hugger, not a talker, I teach kids about feelings and how to deal with them. I can do this because I work with my business partner, Miss Janice. I tell her what to say and she talks or writes. I hug. Believe it or not, I’ve been doing this for over 30 years! I don’t really age like humans. My outsides may get a bit tattered and ruffled, but my insides forever stay the same. Ms. Janice likes that about me because she knows it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Ms. Janice is in the business of kids. She knows deep in her heart that kids are so important … and I
love that about her!
